Description
- Over the next few weeks and months I will be disposing of part of my highly eclectic vinyl collection, as I have moved to a smaller house. Make sure you don’t miss out!!
- I use Record Collector Gradings (See below).
- All albums are part of my collection and have been played as such.
- They therefore all have accumulated a fair amount of spindle wear and many have some background crackle.
Title: ‘ Cold Mountain’
Label: Argo (Decca Subsidiary) ZDA 153
Group / musician Michael Garrick Trio
Michael Garrick piano
Dave Green double bass
Trevor Tomkins drums
Year: 1972
Matrices: 7RG 3775 1G / 7RG3776 1G
Record: The record plays well, but there are lots of light crackles and pops on both sides.
OVERALL I WOULD GRADE THE RECORD AS VERY GOOD +
Cover: The front and back of the cover have a fair amount of small creases. On the front cover there is a band of discolouring that runs through the ‘Cold’ of the title. The back of the cover has faded a little and is marked by wear.
OVERALL I WOULD GRADE THE COVER AS VERY GOOD.
Comments: This is an amazing recording of top notch British jazz from its golden age. The record and cover have worn over time but can still be enjoyed. It is an extremely rare, sought-after recording. MAKE SURE THAT YOU DO NOT MISS OUT!

My records are graded in accordance with Record Collector's Grading System as follows: MINT(M)The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any other items are in perfect condition. EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing. VERY GOOD (VG): The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable. GOOD (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc + or - indicates a grading in between categories
