Condition : the cover shows some creases on the laminated front and moderate wear along the edges especially in the spine with poor legibility of a few letters, please look at the picture No. 4, VG++ / vinyl has some light surface marks that affect listening with a few slight clicks particularly in the second side, EX

GRADAZIONE RIGOROSA - STRICTLY GRADED

Copertine e vinili sono visualmente gradati dopo un’attenta osservazione sotto la luce del sole fatta sulla mia terrazza a tetto. Nelle giornate grigie il controllo viene effettuato sotto una forte lampada alogena con l’aiuto di una lente d’ingrandimento. Tutti i dischi in asta sono stati interamente ascoltati, i 33 giri su un giradischi Rega Planar 3 fornito di una testina a magnete mobile Grado Statement 1 mentre gli EP e i singoli a 45 giri con un Thorens TD 166 BC fornito di una testina, sempre MM, Goldring 1006. Ritenendo che le abituali classificazioni quali Mint, Ex, Vg, ecc., ecc… siano poco significative per spiegare le reali condizioni dei dischi ed anche estremamente soggettive, precedo sempre tali classificazioni con una breve descrizione degli eventuali difetti che ho riscontrato, ad eccezione di Mint- che il più alto grado che conferisco a qualsiasi disco. Soltanto per le copie ancora sigillate all’origine utilizzo MINT/MINT.

Sleeves and vinyls are visually graded after a careful check in bright sunshine on my roof terrace. In the gray days I watch the records under a strong halogen lamp with the help of a magnifying glass. All records in auction have been fully heard. Lps on a Rega Planar 3 turntable with a Grado Statement 1 moving magnet cartridge, EPs and singles 45 rpm. on a Thorens TD 166 BC turntable with a Goldring 1006 MM cartridge. Considering that the usual classifications such as Mint, EX, Vg, etc…, etc… are not significant to explain the real condition of the records in addition to a total subjectivity of opinion, I always introduce before these classifications a short description concerning any defects I have verified with the exception of Mint minus, the highest grade I declare. I use MINT/MINT exclusively for the still from factory sealed copies.

Note : un film di guerra basato su un reale fatto storico accaduto nel 1893 in Rhodesia, oggi Zimbawe, che si concluse con una sorta di Little Bighorn per i soldati Inglesi. Questo lascerebbe supporre ad atmosfere particolarmente drammatiche e musiche intense a tinte fosche. Non è questa la scelta che il compositore Inglese opta per la colonna sonora. Certamente nessuna allegria nelle note dell'orchestra ma una bella sobrietà musicale che ripudia enfatizzazioni epiche o tragiche. Le composizioni hanno carattere sinfonico eccetto "Royal Spear" (b7) che è un canto Bantu. Una curiosità: tra i membri dell'orchestra c'è il trombettista Inglese Eddie Calvert che negli anni cinquanta aveva ottenuto grande successo con brani come "Ciliegi Rosa" o "Oh mein papà". 

Notes : a war film based on a real historical event happened in 1893 in Rhodesia, now Zimbawe, which ended with a sort of Little Bighorn for British soldiers. This would suggest particularly dramatic atmospheres and intense music in dark colors. This is not the choice that the English composer opts for the soundtrack. Certainly no joy at all in the notes of the orchestra but a nice musical sobriety which repudiates epic or tragic emphases. The compositions have symphonic natura except "Royal Spear" (b7) which is a Bantu chant. A curiosity: among the members of the orchestra there is the English trumpeter Eddie Calvert who in the fifties had achieved great success with tunes like "Cherry Pink and Apple Blossom White" or "O Mein Papa".
