Per Wikipedia, Off the Wall is the fifth studio album by tMichael Jackson, released in August, 1979, by Epic Records. It was Jackson's first album released through Epic Records, and the first produced by Quincy Jones. Off the Wall peaked at number three on the Billboard Top 100 Album & Tapes chart and number one on the Top Black Albums chart, staying at number one on the latter for 16 weeks, and was an enormous critical success. The album features songwriting contributions from Stefie Wonder and Paul McCartneyalongside three tracks penned by Jackson himself. The album up for sale is a 1979 recording manufactured by Epic Records. It is a first pressing by Columbia Records' Terre Haute pressing facility. It consists of 10 tracks with a run time of 42+ minutes. Five singles were released from the album, including "Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough", his first solo number-one single in the United States since "Ben" seven years prior. The second single, "Rock With You", also topped the chart. With following singles "Off The Wall" and "She's Out Of My Life". Jackson became the first solo artist to have four singles from the same album reach the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100.
The cover is in VG/VG+ condition. There is mild wear on the bottom corners and along the bottom edge. However there are no split seams, tears, creases or markings on the albums covers. There is no discoloration and both outer covers still retain their gloss. The interior covers of this gatefold album are pristine and contain track listings, lyrics and production information.
The inner sleeve is original, but generic and in VG+ condition.
The recordings have been cleaned and tested with Audacity. All tracks were played through and each tracked without any skipping. There is mild background noise, consisting of mild "clicks" that are random in nature and do not affect the music. The sound is crisp and clear. The disc surfaces show signs of mild wear, there are signs of scratches or scuffs detectable to the touch. The disk surfaces retain their sheen and the labels are clean and intact. This record is VG+ by Goldmine standards. This recording received critical acclaim but a writer for Rolling Stone said it best when he wrote, "the unstoppable dance tracks on Off the Wall – sculpted by Jackson and producer Quincy Jones – remain more or less perfect examples of why disco didn't suck.
