This promotional single contains the two best tracks from the OST of the film La Piscine (1969, Jacques Deray), and is brutally rare!
As far as is known, there is some Italian and French counterparts of this 45 out there, which are always on collectors' want lists, and rarely come up for sale.
But none of them are rarer than this specific white-labeled promotional release from South America.
Here's what the Blaxploitation(.com) site had to say about these specific tracks: "Taken from one of Legrand's lesser-known but most beautiful scores, this excellent two-track -single- features two superb vocal cuts from the Jacques Deray movie. The main track on here is a lovely downtempo mellow vocal number sung by the sublime Sally Phillips, called Ask Yourself Why. Wistful, autumnal and haunting, it's backed by a lovely mellow organ groove and has since been covered by the likes of Barbra Streisand (but don't let that put you off). The flip side is a complete change in pace, as it's a great dancefloor-oriented uptempo male vocal track called Run, Brother Rabbit, Run with a wicked snappy 60s beat and some killer Hammond work by Legrand - what's more, it's never been comped or reissued so this is practically the only way to get it. Highly recommended - a very tough-to-find but fantastic two-sider with a smart late 60s groove ...".! .
As usual in this part of the world, record spins at 33 and titles are translated into spanish.
