MEGARARE and HARD-TO-FIND original Mercury Records Extended Play very first Mono press released by Mercury Records, made and distributed in Chile in 1966 by Discos Philips (Philips Records, uncredited), licensed from Mercury Records, France, catalog number A-122, with machine etched matrix numbers A-122-A AA (“AA” handwritten) in Side 1 and A-122-B AA (“AA” handwritten) in Side 2, with traditional blue/silver Mercury Records labels of the period and push-out center. Yes, Sirs, ANOTHER FIND from Chile!!!

The first to tell about this 4-Tracks EP is that it was ONLY RELEASED IN CHILE, in 1966, and as you can see this UNIQUE EP was also released with an UNIQUE PICTURE SLEEVE, made of a single piece of thin cardboard folded in the middle faking a gatefold cover and kept inside a plastic bag. Front cover is black and white with a picture of Michele Torr, his name at bottom edge and Mercury Records logo at left edge and catalog number at top right corner. Back cover is very simple, her name is at top edge, the tracklist is written in Spanish only (except “Dom Dom”, which doesn’t have translation), with full credits for songwriters and it also has a brief note about Michele Torr, written in Spanish only. In labels, song titles are written in Spanish only, with full credits for songwriters. If you know these songs and discography of Michele Torr you could have already noticed these songs were also released in France in 1966 in an EP which has “Le Film Est Trop Long” as first song and “Viens Allons Danser” as second song of Side 1, here in Chile the songs are inverted, Side 2 is the same. And the picture of Michele Torr in this Chilean EP was taked from the picture sleeve of original 1966 French single “Ce Soir Je T'Attendais”. You can also notice an error in the songwriters credits of “Rien N'y Fera”, because in back cover the credits are for “J. Revaux et RELAND-KILDA”, in label they are for “J. Revaux et ROLAND KILDA” and the correct credits are for Jacques Revaux, correctly written in this Chilean issue, and “ROLAND HILDA”!!! So, here you have the chance to get and own this MEGARARE and UNIQUE 4-TRACKS EP RELEASED ONLY IN CHILE and with UNIQUE PICTURE SLEEVE and UNIQUE ERRORS, a record almost never seen and in GREAT CONDITION!!! A MUST TO HAVE for all fans, lovers and collectors of Michele Torr and French pop/Chanson of the ‘60’s and early ‘70’s!!!

The cover was already described and it’s in great EX- or EX condition, with some wear in all edges, more evident in corners, with light ring marks and creases, with evident age browning in back cover, more evident in the mouth edge, with the spine solid, without damages. The record is in EX- or EX condition both sides, glossy and clean, with soft scuffs and light hairlines, hard to see at first sight, which don’t affect play at all, with the push-out center removed. Labels are in nice EX- or EX condition both sides, clean and clear, with only some spindle hole wear and 3 very small tears in Side 2. The sound is in strong EX- or even EX condition both sides, loud, clear and clean, virtually no background noise (surface noise is normal in records from Chile), with constant soft crackles and some very light occasional clicks here and there, more evident in the silent parts between tracks and in the last seconds of each side, which don’t cause any distraction from the loud and clear sound this record keeps from the beginning to the end, and the record in my automatic turntable doesn’t stop to spin after the music ends in Side 2. Overall, this is a record with still a nice glossy look, with almost immaculate labels and with still great sound quality after more than 50 years, which won’t disappoint anyone and will satisfy any serious collector who knows the level of rarity of this EP!!! And don’t forget this MEGARARE and UNIQUE 4-tracks EP was ONLY RELEASED IN CHILE and with UNIQUE PICTURE SLEEVE and UNIQUE ERRORS, a record almost never seen and now offered in eBay in GREAT CONDITION!!! We don’t use the generic “VG” most of South American sellers use to hide poor quality conditions or “NM” or “Mint” for records which aren’t even clean and sound less than a normal “VG” in professional standards. We use the Record Collector’s Grading System with a little modification: we don’t use MINT grade but for Sealed records and we can use a + or – to show a most professional accurate description.

MINT (M): I only use this grade for Sealed records.

NEAR MINT (NM): The record itself is in like new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality (only some very very very light hairlines caused for the record rubbing the sleeve). The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in like perfect condition.

EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality, maybe some surface marks which doesn’t affect play. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD (VG): The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.

FAIR (F): The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump.
The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

POOR (P): The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

BAD (B): The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.

All records will be packed outside of the sleeve to avoid damages in the cover and all records will be sent with tracking number via Small Packet or Parcel Post services.
