Mike Oldfield – The Songs Of Distant Earth Michael Gordon Oldfield (born 15 May 1953, Reading, Berkshire) is an English multi-instrumentalist musician and composer, working a style that blends progressive rock, folk, ethnic or world music, classical music, electronic music, New Age, and more recently, dance. His music is often elaborate and complex in nature. He is best known for his hit 1973 album Tubular Bells, which launched Virgin Records.This is a very decent copy of the mega rare original LP version of Mike Oldfield’s Songs Of Distant Earth. Grab it while you can as is doesn’t come up for auction very often!!!

The album is on WEA Records, 4509-98581-1. Matrix side one: WMME Alsdorf 450 998581-1-A (stamped). Matrix side two: WMME Alsdorf 450 998581-1-B (stamped).
Released in 1994. German pressing. Stereo.

Condition: (as Record Collector’s grading system)
Vinyl side 1: very good (has a few light marks and plays with the very odd light click here and there - hardly noticeable, that apart plays great with no jumps or sticks and minimal crackle).
Vinyl side 2: excellent (has a few light superficial marks that do not affect the audio in any way, plays great with no jumps, sticks or clicks and minimal crackle).
Cover: very good (light corner, edge and spine wear, a few creases near the edges, a few small indent marks on front).
I have tried to give my honest opinion as to the condition. I will give a complete refund to the buyer if they are not happy with the record.

RECORD COLLECTOR GRADING SYSTEM:
MINT: I very rarely use the mint grade. Only records that are still sealed or records that even under the strongest of lights are completely unmarked. Also covers that are unmarked/uncreased in any way and still look brand new.
EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is no lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.
FAIR: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.
POOR: The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.
