Description
Tubular Bells by Mike Oldfield in VG+ condition throughout.
This is a very early true 1st UK pressing with matrices hand etched into the run-outs:
V-2001-A
V-2001-B
After this came the later 2U/3U type EMI stamped matrices. With black and white labels, this very 1st press has pinched top and bottom spine and credit on the sleeve back ~ 'Printed In England by Robor Limited' (later sleeves were printed by E J Day).
The record itself plays nicely with no jumps. Evenly glossy black vinyl with only very few and very light marks from previous play and mostly visible under very bright LED's. Some static/crackle and some light clicks heard through the organ/guitar section of side 2, but this doesn't overpower and the music plays through nice and clearly. Labels are clean - the word 'SYKES' is neatly printed into the label and we have no explanation for this - definitely not handwritten and appears not stamped on (though we cannot guarantee this) small neat tiny 'SYKES'also appears printed? on sleeve back as shown.
Outer picture sleeve fully laminated and intact. A little edge creasing and slight age discoloration along the opening edge. There is also a small scuffed area approx 1cm on the top right corner. There is no other damage, splits or tears and the sleeve is strong and flat.
Original inner poly lined sleeve a little creased but undamaged.
I grade all of my records according to The Record Collector Magazines grading system.
I always test play my records on a Pro-Ject Debut Carbon Turntable with Ortofon cartridge stylus unless they are in near mint condition and appear unplayed but the description will state this. I don't sell records with deep scratches or marks that affect the sound quality and enjoyment.
All of our Vinyl is professionally cleaned using a Pro-Ject VC-S record cleaning machine.
The record is then packaged in a protective anti static sleeve and then posted in a robust top of the range custom cardboard record mailer.
