So, up for auction is a very hard to find rare original US private vinyl pressing of Mike Rosario Y Su Orquesta La Muralla’s self - titled debut album that was released in 1977 with a white and grey with black lettering Mas Records label, Cat No LP 2262 and Matrix Nos MAS - 2262 - A .!. Bell Sound 5f [A side] and MAS - 2262 - B .!. Bell Sound 5f [B side, both hand - written / stamped] and featured the following tracks:

Side A: Canto A Chango - Ay Caray - Mujer Puertorriquena - Mi Rumba

Side B: La Guerra - Mi Guaguanco - Mi Banda Guajira - Timoteo

Mike Rosario founded La Muralla in Rochester, New York in 1969 with the assistance of lead singer and composer Johnnie Vega and debuted with this very tasty self-titled album of the typical guaguanco of the 70s! One of Upstate New York most successful Puerto Rican Salsa musical groups, La Muralla had dynamic vocals, a vibrant horn section, a tight percussion with prominent piano and bass plus the ability to be open to new ideas and allowing young talent to grow! The band released two more albums - ¡Avisale! [1979, Tico] and Por Nuestra Cuenta [1984, Van Boogie Records] - and is still active today under the leadership of timbalero Tony Alvarez, as Mike Rosario died on March of 2015 after a hard-fought battle with cancer…

Grading:I use the GOLDMINE standards for grading STRICTLY & CONSERVATIVELY  the condition of the items listed. The grading is mostly visual, though I dο “spot check” each of the songs.
