Increasingly rare original UK 1971 12" LP, with gleaming and barely played 1st press 1E / 2E matrix vinyl on the highly colectable RCA NEON label, STEREO NE.10

An extremely collectable and beautiful condition copy of this rare and sought after 1st press contemporary jazz/rock gem, the highlight being the truly near mint condition vinyl and flawless audio quality

Both sides of the flat vinyl gleam with the original jet black lacquered sheen. The vinyl is totally flat and appears to be in virtually unmarked condition; even with close inspection under a bright light no wispy hairlines or light scuffs come into view - clearly this vinyl has been barely played. The only blemish (too strong a word) is a 5mm very, very light scuff mark on the outer periphery of side 1 (see photo) - barely noticeable (you really will have to look quite hard to detect it), very trivial, does not affect play back at all, but I mention it nonetheless. NEAR MINT (NM)

The condition of the labels is again near mint (NM). Pristine, with not even the usual one or two small and very faint spindle trails. The colours remain rich, vibrant, and perfectly defined, and all label text remains in original perfect condition.

The iconic non-laminated gatefold sleeve is a solid excellent (EX). All of the edges and corners remain firm and well defined, as is the spine, with no creasing or tears, and all of the colours have retained their rich vibrancy. There are just a few intermittent and very light scuff marks on the bottom back edge, and a little rubbing on the corners; and look closely and you can detect just the hint of some very faint ring wear on the reverse side. The inside of the gatefold is hard to fault, with no marks or unwanted writing/doodles. Impressive!

The audio quality is a stunning near mint (NM). No background crackle or other interference. No skips, repeats, pops, clicks, or jumps. Just perfect, with great tone and fantastic clarity throughout even at higher volume and frequency. This record has obviously been barely played. Jazz, contemporary jazz, fusion jazz, prog rock...it's all here!

Comes complete with the original poly-lined black inner sleeve, with correct "British Patent" and MADE IN ENGLAND" text and with barely any creasing, no seam splits, no tears, no discolouration and remaining fully functional. Again, excellent plus (EX+).

A highly collectable copy of this increasingly rare and hard to find UK 1st press prog rock classic - a welcome addition to any serious vinyl collection - the highlight being the gleaming and obviously little played vinyl and, of course, the accompanying superb stereo audio quality.

Note that I always insert the vinyl(s) into a new plain white poly-lined inner sleeve in order to protect the original during postage, and separate this from the sleeve itself  to prevent seam splits. I use thick cardboard stiffeners and take great care in my packaging to ensure as far as possible that these precious records reach their destination in exactly the same condition as when they leave me.

Descriptions of any records I sell comply with the Rare Record Price Guide grading guidelines :

Mint  The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.

Excellent  The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

Very Good  The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

Good  The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.

Fair  The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

Poor  The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing

Bad  The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.
