Description

NOW THIS IS SPECIAL:

The Miles Davis Quintet. The Great Prestige Recordings. 5 LP box set, 180 gm pressings. Analogue Productions. APJ 035. Long out of print. LPs and booklet are Mint. I have played maybe two of the LPs once. Case would be mint except for some slight splitting on two back seams. All sleeves are shiny and Mint. The set is no. 2173 out of just 5000 pressed!

This set comprises the Prestige LPs "Miles," "Cookin'," "Relaxin'," "Workin'," and "Steamin'." They are absolutely seminal sessions which belong in every jazz fan's collection.

This set was remastered and manufactured to extremely exacting standards by the folks at Analogue Productions and AcousTech Mastering. The lacquers were cut by the great Stan Ricker, and the original tapes were remastered using all tube equipment. The records were pressed by RTI, the finest plating and pressing facility in the country. Excruciating care was taken both to get the most off the original analog tapes and remain faithful to the EQ, sound, intent and integrity of the original LPs. Folks, this is the happy instance where sumptuous audiophile sound has collided with music so fine it's probably heard in heaven.

I will not end the auction early--don't even ask.

MORE ABOUT WHO YOU’RE BUYING FROM:
A dyed-in-the-wool audiophile/vinylphile. I read Michael Fremer religiously. Hello, Phonogrammers! My front end is a VPI Scout, van den Hul Frog cart, VPI tonearm cable running into a brand new Sutherland PhD phono stage—a very revealing but nontheless musical setup. Meaning you can trust my judgements of an LP’s condition and MUSICALITY. On that note, as important as cosmetic condition is, how an LP actually actually PLAYS remains (for me) the single most important thing. How enjoyable and ENGAGING is it to listen to? We’ve all had the experience of buying an album which LOOKED perfect, but nonetheless played like crap. I do not sell those kinds of LPs.

I welcome your questions and invite you to check my other auctions, a selection of vintage and/or audiophile LPs, SACDs and the like. Note my 100% positive feedbacks. Good luck bidding. John
