A superb condition and barely played copy of this extremely rare and highly sought after 1971 UK 1st press Miles Davis jazz gem, on CBS records, rare Turquoise label, STEREO S 70089

The appearance and condition of this completely flat vinyl is a definite excellent plus (EX+). Fantastic condition with a jet black sheen and beautifully glossy. Even with close inspection under a bright light I could detect not even the usual few wispy hairlines...perhaps just a couple of extremely faint paper scuffs but even thee are barely discernible. Superb, especially considering this to be a Miles Davis 1971 UK 1st pressing. Clearly this record has been played only a few times.

The labels are each excellent (EX+). These are the much rarer, very first UK CBS pressing, turquoise labels (not many left now). Apart from just two very faint, small spindle trails adjacent to the centre hole on the side 1 label the condition of each label is pristine. 

The non-laminated outer sleeve is again in excellent plus (EX+) condition. These outer sleeves are extremely fragile and extremely prone to creasing and wear and tear, so to come across an original 1st pressing outer sleeve in condition as excellent as this is truly rare. No creasing, no scuffing, no "nicks", no unwanted writing or doodles, no edge scuffing, and perfectly defined right angled corners. All of the colouring remains rich and vibrant, and the photos and text on the reverse side remains perfectly intact. There are a couple of very light, small surface marks on the front side towards the bottom edge, and just the hint of some very mild ring wear (you will need to tilt the sleeve at an angle in a good light to see it) towards the top edge, again on the front side. Apart from that, perfect!

Finally, the quality of the audio is superb, near mint in fact (NM). Fantastic tone and clarity throughout, with no deviation even on higher frequencies and at higher volume. No sticks, jumps, repeats, clicks or background crackle/interference - just stunning stereo audio quality throughout. There are only two tracks on this album, each about 26 minutes in duration, which with Miles Davis on trumpet, John McLaughlin on guitar and Billy Cobham on drums each makes for extraordinary listening. Terrific stuff!

Comes complete with the very rare Miles Davis poster which is in perfect, unused condition. This in itself is a true rarity.

Includes the original  CBS "INNER SLEEVE" inner sleeve which has no splits, tears or rips, just some very minor creasing and remaining fully functional. Note that I always place the record into an alternative brand new plain white inner sleeve to protect the original from any seam splitting in transit.

In summary a truly hard to fault, extremely rare and sought after UK 1971 1st press CBS turquoise label Miles Davis jazz gem - worthy of gracing any serious jazz vinyl collection and only continuing to gain in value.

On the subject of postage, I take great care in the packaging of all items, using a proper vinyl thick cardboard crucifix style mailer along with at least two cardboard stiffeners. I take great care in separating the record from the outer sleeve in order to help prevent sleeve damage in transit and I always insert the vinyl, outer sleeve and inner into a clear plastic sleeve, thus adding further protection.

Mint

The records itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items, such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.

Excellent

The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and /or creasing.

Very Good

The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

Good

The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.

Fair

The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents are torn, stained and/or defaced

Poor

The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents are badly damaged or partly missing.

Bad

The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler
