MILES DAVIS - 'KIND OF BLUE'

Up for auction is a NEAR MINT copy of the long deleted and much sought after 1995 Classic Records Inc. release of MILES DAVIS seminal 1959 album 'KIND OF BLUE'.
This 2Lp set provides an authentic reissue of the world's most famous Jazz record, and it corrects a mechanical problem that occurred during the recording process.
It has been determined by SONY engineers that the tape machine used to produce SIDE ONE of the original record in 1959 was running about 1 1/4 percent too slow
during the recording session. When the tape was played back at 15 inches-per-second for the transfer to the production master, the pitch was too fast.

SIDE ONE of this double-set presents 'KIND OF BLUE' as we always have known it. SIDE THREE presents the first three songs at the correct pitch for the first time
ever on Lp. As a special bonus, SIDE FOUR presents an alternate take of "Flamenco Sketches" transferred at 45 rpm to increase playback fidelity.

CONDITION

Both Discs: NEAR MINT-

All four sides of the Vinyl are shiny & clean. There are absolutely no major defects, no groove wear, no feel-able scratches or other blemishes visible!

Only SIDE ONE of the first record suffers from a small, almost invisible scuff, that causes a number of louder "ticks" or "pops" at the very beginning of

"So What" for a few spins... So What! Apart from this, both records play perfectly with great dynamics & clarity! There's only minimal static in between tracks.

Labels: NEAR MINT

All four Labels in the original COLUMBIA six-eye STEREO style are clean & undamaged. There are no spindle-marks visible!

Cover: NEAR MINT-

The heavy-duty fold-out Cover is in as new condition with only a hint of shelf wear to the front panel & minimal wear to the top right hand corner.

I always stick to the 'RECORD COLLECTOR' grading system (please see details below).

The album will be mailed to the lucky winner in a stiff record box with extra cardboard stiffeners for best possible protection! The experience and fun of buying records on eBay is ruined if you discover that – once the album arrives – they are either not in the condition stated or have been damaged in the post!
