RARE JAZZ-COLUMBIA RECORDS CL 1355-MILES DAVIS-KIND OF BLUE-6 EYE-DEEP GROOVE-MONO-LP-NICE!!!!
This was owned by my mother. She bought it new in 1959 or 1960. I was only 7 years old when she bought it. It was played on a nice Philco hi-fi, not some crummy "record player". The Philco used a ceramic cartridge. I remember that it had an electrostatic tweeter - very high end for the period. I say all these things to stress that the record was not abused. There are a couple marks on side one of the record. They do not impact play at all. I just listened to the entire disk on my AR turntable and Audio Technica cartridge. It is surprisingly quiet for a 60 year old record. This is one of the few records she kept over the years. I inherited it, and I love it. However, I also have it on CD, and the CD sounds just as nice as the LP to my old ears. So, since these seem rare and people want them, why not sell it to someone who can value it even more than I do?
I have not attempted any cleaning on this album.
This early edition contains the same track-order error on side two that makes this a collector's item.
I have no idea what this is worth. Prices seem to vary wildly. I am accepting returns (buyer pays shipping), so if you don't like it, just send it back. I have mixed feelings about selling it. However, neither my wife or my kids care one way or another. So, better to sell it to someone who will value it rather than see it tossed in the trash when I am gone.
