MILES DAVISLive Evil
UK CBS (67219) FIRST PRESSING (November 1972) OF MILES DAVIS' "Live Evil"
A 2 LP SET - PART LIVE, PART STUDIO AND A PIVOTAL RECORDING IN DAVIS' CAREER
LOVELY COPY - POSSIBLY PLAYED ONCE OR TWICE AND DELIVERING PRACTICALLY FLAWLESS SOUND
Live-Evil is an album by Miles Davis, much of which was recorded live at The Cellar Door on December 19, 1970, and part of which was recorded in Columbia's Studio B, with different personnel, on February 6 and June 3–4, 1970.
Though all compositions were originally credited to Miles Davis, the studio recordings "Little Church" ("Igrejinha"), "Nem Um Talvez" ("Not Even a Maybe") and "Selim" are by Brazilian composer and multi-instrumentalist Hermeto Pascoal, who also played with the Davis band on these tracks.
One of the key musicians on the album, John McLaughlin, was not a regular member of Miles Davis's band during the time of recording but joined the band for one of the four nights at the Cellar Door.
Davis had originally intended the album to be a spiritual successor to Bitches Brew, but this idea was abandoned when it became clear that Live-Evil was "something completely different"

LABELS: NEAR MINT
Clean, bright and unmarked labels - possibly played just once or twice
VINYL Visual: NEAR MINT
Some pressing blemishes present but these would have been there from new and they have absolutely no audio impact - otherwise, unmarked
VINYL Audio: NEAR MINT
Beautiful copy - barely played and my play-check at loud volume revealed little to fault - just a couple of light clicks at the beginning of Side Three otherwise, flawless throughout the rest of the set - a really wonderful copy of this hard and uncompromising record - great stuff
SLEEVE: VERY GOOD+
The single leaf, centre loading gatefold has some wear/bumping to the corners/spine but it's in fine shape compared to most examples of this particular cover that I have seen
