Description

Hi! You're looking at an excellent condition vinyl LP on the Prestige Records label (reissued by Fantasy Records in 1972 as the very first of their 2-fer reissue series that ran through the 1970s) and an original MONO pressing with VAN GELDER stamps in the dead wax and TWO classic jazz recordings by trumpet player MILES DAVIS originally titled "Cookin'" and "Relaxin'" and reissued here under the title "Miles Davis"--the album features tracks drawn from two marathon 1956 recording sessions with the classic lineup of JOHN COLTRANE on tenor saxophone, RED GARLAND on piano, PAUL CHAMBERS on bass and "PHILLY" JOE JONES on drums. The LP is a 1972 Prestige Records issue with the serial number PR 24001, a MONO only recording (there is no true stereo version of these recordings) with the VAN GELDER mastering stamp of recording engineer Rudy Van Gelder in the dead wax and was made in the United States.
This LP is in excellent condition and the vinyl is in NEAR MINT-  overall condition and should play beautifully, with some slight pressing bubbles on side one that should not significantly affect play, a couple of moderate scuffs and a few light paper scuffs that should not significantly affect play and no other significant flaws; the deluxe gatefold cover is in VG+ condition with two tiny pieces of transparent tape on the lower center edges of the covers, light ringwear on the surfaces, light dings on the tips, a slight crease on the lower center right edge of the front cover and just light shelfwear otherwise but no other significant flaws--it's NOT a cutout!
Please Note:  I CAN ship records outside of the United States but will need to get a weight estimate based on the final PACKAGED weight for this record--I cannot ship for the $4.00 U.S. Media Rate and the quoted International Shipping Rate may differ from the final shipping rate due to packaged weight differences so please wait to make payment until a final invoice is received. Thanks!
Vinyl Grading Standards (unless otherwise indicated, LPs are visually graded)

Mint (or M) – Sealed and effectively perfect with no signs of wear or ever having been played.

Near Mint -- A record with only the slightest evidence of ever having been handled.

Very Good Plus Plus (VG++) A very clean record that has no marks aside from slight scuffs and abrasions caused by removal from a paper inner sleeve or perhaps a few marks on the label caused by a turntable spindle.

Very Good Plus (VG+) A record that has had a number of plays and may have some superficial scuffs, possibly mild to moderate spindle marks and / or possibly hairline scratches on the vinyl, which may produce some intermittent pops and possibly very light background noise.

Very Good (VG) A record that has generally been well cared for, but has seen a fair amount of play, with some scuffing. hairline scratches, spindle marks and / or light scratches.  Should play through well, with the possibility of more pops and more background noise.

Very Good Minus (VG-)  A record with significant scuffs, scratches, and spindle marks that should play through with moderate pops and surface noise, possibly of some duration.

Good (G) A record with will play through, but with significant pops, substantial background noise, and possibly intermittent skipping.

Poor (P) A record with MAJOR issues that will interfere with play, and will possibly be unplayable in part due to damage (I'll only offer an LP in this condition if it's an extreme rarity and / or for cover art display purposes).

A fantastic find, and a beautiful copy of this vinyl LP!
