Description
For auction is "East Coast Jazz Series #5" with MILT HINTON, on Bethlehem BCP-1020, MONO, DG, 1955.
SOUND: VG
It has been machine-cleaned and I listened to both sides completely. Overall, the playback is good, but it does have consistent light surface noise throughout on this fairly soft-volume performance as well as a few "pops" here and there. That said, it's not egregious, and the music is very enjoyable.
VINYL: VG+
Visually, the vinyl is very nice. It is still glossy, clean, and new-looking. Side 1 has a couple of very faint scuffs that I can only see under a bright light. Other than that, there are a number of fingerprints here and there on both sides. It actually looks better than it plays. The record is on maroon Bethlehem "clef/leaf" labels, with deep grooves both sides. The labels are bright, clean, and beautiful. There is a bit of wear to the spindle-hole.
COVER: VG+ or better
The cover too, is very nice! The edges are solid with little/no visible wear. The corners each have a bit of rounding and wear. The sleeve is stiff, heavy cardboard. The front cover is laminated, and still glossy, unmarked, and pretty clean. You can see some routine shelf-wear if you hold it at an angle. Minor. The back is relatively clean and bright, unmarked, with routine, minor aging.

Every record I auction has been cleaned on a Nitty Gritty vacuum/cleaner. I played every record to determine if there are static, tics, pops, hisses, what have you. I endeavor to thoroughly report any extraneous audio "noise" or problems of any significance. Other than that, I will report on the general condition of each record, both vinyl and jacket, according to Goldmine standards, to the best of my ability.
Every record is put into a new, clean sleeve insert. In the case of an interesting original sleeve insert, I'll include that in the sale.
If you're into this stuff, you might want to save me to your seller's list and check back periodically. I'll be putting a lot of vintage jazz records up for auction.
