MILTON WRIGHT - FRIENDS AND BUDDIES - ALSTON. COVER VG (Some scuffs, ringwear, and wear to top and bottom edge). RECORD: VG++ (plays NM, sonically beautiful condition but graded lower due to the markered Xs that are handwritten on each label - which, incidentally, was an alternative way to signifying a deleted item - instead of punching a hole in the cover or clipping a corner). This is the by far the greatest soul funk album to ever come out of Florida. An absolute masterpiece from start to finish, not a bad track to be found on either side. And please take note of this little known fact: there were two concurrent editions of this record. One had more quiet and acoustic production. And then there is the one you're bidding on, which features spacier, funkier production (much like Milton Wright's "spaced" record), and includes the track "Keep it Up". Two entirely different versions of these lps which were released in miniscule quantities and were almost instantly deleted. A great story to be told there, I think. And don't let the Alston label fool you.. this is a very, very rare record which seldom comes up for auction. Essential lp. Do not miss this!
