Description

Offered is the 1st Edition Mono Pressing of Mingus Dynasty - Charles Mingus and his Jazz Groups on Columbia 6 Eye Label.

From a visual inspection, this LP would seem to be in Near Mint condition with very little playtime or marks evident.

However, we spotted what looked to be sleevewear (it was in its original Columbia inner plastic sleeve) which is normally a cosmetic issue that does not affect the audio playback.

We thought this warranted a closer evaluation so we completed a playgrade assessment and found that it did have an audio effect: On Side 1, present is a faint, audible "whooshing" noise for a small part of each revolution that lessens as the needle approaches Track A-3, where it disappears. Side B has this for about 15 seconds before it is no longer present. The remainder of the Tracks (on both sides) play at Near Mint.

Our guess is that the LP has a bit of "shelfware" from decades of non-use, picked up from the plastic sleeve.
