  MINOR THREAT
  " Out Of Step "

 Dischord 10
Black rear cover with white box in the center.
33rpm LP - Yellow record labels with a GREEN ink for sheep/text. (Most of the original 45rpm earlier pressings I've seen had a darker ink on the record labels)

$3.50 price in the color bar on the cover.
Cover color (band across the top, writing, etc.) is a light blue-ish.
Hopefully you're familiar with the varieties and you'll know which one this is.
See the photos!

It looks like a EX vinyl copy at least.  Sounds great.  This is a little beat-up cover-wise, but the vinyl is in great condition! Meaning that there is a spot on the front cover where a sticker was placed by some ne'er-do-well at a record store, and when someone tried to remove it they also removed a small piece of the original glossy album cover with it.  Like they pulled off your Band-aid and the scab came with it.  It would bleed if it were a human limb.  The rest of the cover looks great.  Minor dings but no seam splits or tears.

Out of Step was the sole 12" LP released by American hardcore punk band Minor Threat. It was first released in April 1983 on Dischord Records. Where the lyrics on their early EPs were an outlet for Ian's "message", the lyrics on Out of Step deal mainly with friendships (or problems associated with them). The original vinyl version of this album is quite different from the one on the Complete Discography compilation; most notably, the guitar on the bridge and Ian's scream at the end of Out of Step are entirely removed from the CD compilation. It was ranked 100 on Pitchfork Media's list of the 100 best albums of the 1980s.

The foldout poster lyric photo etc. insert with this copy looks like it's been in a fight. Some wrinkles & wear & someone cut out the band's name at the top!
Blue cover.  Kinda matches the other record in the auction!

First two 7"s on a 12", also known as the Minor Threat LP, was a combination of American hardcore punk group Minor Threat's first two EPs, Minor Threat (originally released June 1981) and In My Eyes (originally released December 1981). It had the same cover as their first release, an image which has become an iconic image in punk culture. The image has been imitated by punk bands such as Rancid (…And Out Come the Wolves) and, more infamously, in the Major Threat ad campaign by Nike.

"Straight Edge", a song on the first EP, inadvertently inspired the straight edge movement. The song seemed to be a call for abstinence from drugs and alcohol—a new thing in the punk scene, which initially found a small, but dedicated following.

"In My Eyes" is an anti-smoking, anti-peer pressure song which has been covered by such bands as Rage Against the Machine. This song, along with "Straight Edge" and "Out of Step", helped to solidify views of Minor Threat as a band with an anti-drug platform.

"Minor Threat" is a youth anthem which has been covered by such rock bands as Sublime, Silverchair, Rise Against and Pennywise.

"Steppin' Stone" is a Monkees cover. It is considered something of a punk standard particularly by early 1980s punk bands from Washington, DC. It has been covered by such other famous punk bands as the Sex Pistols, State of Alert, Government Issue, and D.S.13. As a matter of fact, The Sex Pistols covered it WAY earlier.

We are collectors and we want you to get your collectibles in the best condition possible, therefore, unlike many sellers on the great eBay
WE NEVER REMOVE VINYL FROM ITS SLEEVE AND LEAN IT AGAINST ANYTHING
nor do we
REMOVE THE VINYL RECORDS FROM THEIR SLEEVES & LAY THEM DOWN ON A SURFACE TO DISPLAY THEM.

We're rather amazed when we take the care that we do with the vinyl we sell, and then see another seller make more money selling the exact same item
in worse shape, and their picture shows the record out of its cover and out of its sleeve lying on a surface!  I believe the "problem" is that we try to describe every item
in detail so that you'll know exactly what you're getting.  Many sellers will simply say "excellent" "mint" or "great", having no idea what those terms mean in relation to the Goldmine Grading System.  We tell you exactly what you're getting, and even if it's been to hell and back, we still treat it like it's a piece of your mother.  Sometimes it's the detail that screws things up, I think.  If we were vague, like most sellers, you'd just see the name of the band, the title, and a picture, and you'd buy it.  Oh well.

Many sellers seem to have a disregard for the items they're selling and only care about making their pictures look pretty.  We only care about the pieces we sell.  And you.  So you'll see that the records are displayed IN THEIR ORIGINAL SLEEVES, with just a hint of the vinyl showing so that you can see what color they are.  If you want to see the vinyl pulled from its sleeve and resting on a dusty surface, look at someone else's auction or blog and then come back to our page and buy our copy in PERFECT SHAPE.

We will ship this ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD.

ORDERS OVERSEAS, ESPECIALLY TO EUROPE (AND ESPECIALLY ESPECIALLY GERMANY) ARE SOMETIMES TAKING A RIDICULOUS AMOUNT OF TIME.  SOME VINYL IS TAKING UP TO A MONTH TO ARRIVE.  IF YOU CAN TAKE THIS INTO ACCOUNT AS A POSSIBILITY, GO AHEAD AND BID. Other countries currently taking a long time to deliver the mail include Spain, The Ukraine and anything related to the Russian Federation and anyone who falls into the shadow of what has been referred to as Russia, the former U.S.S.R. etc. Just please, if you get all the way down here to the bottom and pay attention to the small print, take into account that is is NOT our fault that packages are taking up to and sometimes over a month to get to certain addresses in the Russian Federation, Italy, Germany, and especially Eastern European locations. We have considered many times NOT SELLING to your part of the world, but it seems to be so starved for new music, and we want to be able to share in the wealth of music that we have here, so we're trying to keep our relationship a happy one. Consider this when you haven't received your records within 3 weeks and you are writing us a nasty letter or considering an "unsent merchandise strike" or whatever they are called. Simply contact us, and we will tell you when your package was mailed, will do our best to track it for you and/or send you a replacement copy of what you won and paid for. If all of this fails, we will GLADLY refund your money. We absolutely have no history of ripping anyone off, and are doing our best to keep the flow of music working from the Eastern seaboard of the United States to the more tightly-reined countries in your part of the world! We WANT YOU to hear rare music!! Thank you, my friend! Johnny, at Reptilian.
