We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office. Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has become very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our well over 18,000 positive feedback. We use an ultrasonic KLAudio machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. A rare psychedelic record from the 60s, in which this band called RAINBOW pulls out all the stops. Part “Sgt. Pepper,” part San Francisco psych, part Mothers Of Invention, “After the Storm” displays an exuberance and confidence that befits an era where even lesser talents felt they change the world. From the whimsical, carnival-esque “Debby’s Party” and “The Ballad of Captain Bob and The Good Ship Venus,” through the prog of “Love Allusion” and “Milk and Honey Lovin’.” There is also a solid bluesrocker “I Just Want To Make Love to You,” that works. “After the Storm” is a mixed bag of grooves that was intended to be mixed with an overall sunny disposition, Rainbow ought to win over fans, some 43 years too late. Relics like this are cool when they can deliver both nostalgia and some surprisingly good tunes.
One of any number of L.A. groups of their time and place, Rainbow put together plenty that was in the air around them, from Love's amazing confections to the Byrds' transmogrifications to Iron Butterfly's keyboard-heavy explorations (perhaps no surprise given that bandleader/chief songwriter W. David Mohr played both organ and piano) to all sorts of electric blues. So there's the fragmentary "Debby's Party," which starts the album, all cheers and party noise; what sounds like a door opening before the beginning of "Love Allusions"; the easygoing guitar introduction to "Leaf Clover" (very much a post-SMiLE Beach Boys song in feel); the chipmunk voice followed by the intentionally over the top introduction of Mohr on "Does Your Head Need Straightening?" -- good moments all.Debby's Party
