We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office. Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has become very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable.

Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. Highly acclaimed dark progressive prog adventure from 1970 ...the remarkable 2nd LP by Peter Hammill and Van der Graaf Generator

"Darkness (11/11)" opens with suble mysterious sounds, where the song elements slowly appear, creating a typical and great Van der Graaf Generator composition, having anxietic melody and aggressive wailing vocals of Peter dicting a long poem, and strong presence of bass guitar, keyboards and reeds. The elements brewed in their first "Aerosol Grey Machine" have matured to the sound dominating their heyday career starting with this record. "Refugees" is possible the most appreciated song here, being a ballad for hippies with chamber orchestrations and power and style resembling beyond "The Whiter Shade of Pale". This is many fans favourite song of this band! "White Hammer" starts solemnly with the church organs, turning to more sinister sounds and theme, being about the medieval inquisition. The final moments of the long song start to chart the iconoclastic zones of terror dominating more further their upcoming two studio albums. "Whatever Would Robert Have Said?" is a more calmer melodic song driven by organ / winds / acoustic guitar, having complex passage and calm floating middle part. It was also filmed to the German Beat Club television show. "Out Of My Book" is an acoustic ballad for acoustic guitar and flute. The album is finished by over eleven minutes long "After The Flood", which again starts in a pretty way, and then moves to more disturbing dark areas. This track has most adventurous solutions in it, and lots of rhythm / theme changes. It's great, less coherent arrangements, flowing with avant garde elements and appreciated by manyfans of the storied band. If you dig this song, go straight to their "Pawn Hearts" album next.
