PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question. OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In the unlikely instance that you feel the need to open a resolution dispute before working with us, you will immediately be blocked from any further chance to acquire the rare music we present each and every week. Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has became very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback. We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. VERY RARE ... Original 1971 Vertigo 'SWIRL' label 14-track LP for the Songwriter's Workshop, also featuring British underground acts on the Swirl Vertigo label, Assagai, Sunbird, Tudor Lodge, and other gems...including UNRELEASED TRACKS ...UK folk, psych & prog...
Superb 'artex' style textured gatefold jacket, all in fantastic condition. Hard to believe that this album is 42 years old!
Includes the scarce VERTIGO SWIRL original printed and plastic lined iner sleeve (mint!)
Like the liner notes rightly suggest, this is not a label sampler in the usual meaning. No top-selling acts draw the cart, no Black Sabbath, no Uriah Heep, no Colosseum, no Juicy Lucy. Moreover, there are five otherwise unavailable tracks on this rarity, so it seems natural to have a closer look at these. The track by Sunbird sounds vaguely like the old UK Nirvana. The Jimmy Campbell track is non-LP and on par with the best of his album and therefore an asset. Folkie Carthy makes an unexpected appearance and this is a classic version of a classic tune, excellent. Pete Aikin plays a self-penned song that sounds traditional too, but is quite inspired. And the obscure "Lassoo" sounds like (UK) Nirvana as well. From the issued tracks the best cuts are by Tudor Lodge, Clear Blue Sky, John Dummer Blues Band, Jade Warrior, Nirvana and Assagai are very welcome too, as this is a great way to get hold of these marvellous tracks, moreso than trying to secure their expesive and exciting albums.
