Description
8 Rare Hebrew Records – Original 1952- Some (maybe all) by Herbert Fromm
These 8 records all bare the label of Department of State - International Broadcasting Division
The labels were typed with the date (January 1952) , time and language “Hebrew Music)
The rest of the labels are hand written in ink. All the blank discs were made by Audiodiscs -
All records are 12”; they are cut on one side. The rear side are smooth and clear- shinny as a mirror
They are stamped “auditioned”
Some, if not all BY: Herbert Fromm (His name is written on some of the labels
EXCELLENT CONDITION WITH NO SCRATCHES
- The only problem that I can detect is that one paper rapper is ripped ( see photo) and a couple are creased

An informative record expert just emailed me with the following comments. This may be beneficial:
"I think what you have there are lacquer "acetates" cut most likely from a live concert and saved for later radio broadcast. These could be rare to a collector if the performances are unique. The tell tale signs of with tracks only on one side and extra holes around the spindle hole which are called "drive holes". These drive holes hold the lacquer disc secure when cutting the audio tracks. If you look closely into one of the holes on the back you may see a shiny layer in the composite. This would be aluminum.
The lacquer top coat or cutting surface is softer than vinyl so it will wear out quickly.
If you clean them, you may harm the fragile lacquer.
If they are in good condition and were cut from a live performance on good quality gear, they could sound great to a collector."
