We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office. Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has become very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our well over 18,000 positive feedback. We use an ultrasonic KLAudio machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. This obscure UNDERGROUND band, BRAIN POLICE from San Diego, played many concerts with famous bands like CREAM, Jefferson Airplane, etc etc .... They only released a test-pressing LP that was not accepted by the so-called major label *brains* - so never made an official record. The test press was reporedly only 50 copies , hence impossible, when Rockadelic Records, an independent Texas label issued the record for the first time in the last century.
The music is absolutely perfect Fuzz guitar psych with great rhythm guitars, organs and St. Pepper-style vocals. With more luck this band could have been as famous as Strawberry Alarm Clock. Incidentally, they played on many bills together. The music is not as groovy crafted as the Strawberries. They have somewhat of a stronger output (give or take) than most of the famous bands the played together with. Some critics rate the album as "every song on the Lp is a potential hit."
The Brain Police essentially spun off from the group the Man-Dells, with guitarists Rick Randle and Larry Grant and bassist Norman Lombardo, who were all still in junior high when that group released its first single in 1965, “Bonnie” (with “Oh No” on the flipside). The trio had also played with the Other Four. They became the Brain Police in 1968, with Rick’s younger brother David Randle joining on guitar, and earned a large local following.
San Diego's only psychedelic cops is how this brilliant California band presented themselves in their promo posters. Psychedelic they certainly were, though they might better be described as a British influenced garage- psychedelic band perhaps.
