PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question. OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In the unlikely instance that you feel the need to open a resolution dispute before working with us, you will immediately be blocked from any further chance to acquire the rare music we present each and every week. Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has became very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback. We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Please give us 5 stars in each category through the feedback system, and we will be able to effectively continue to fulfill your passion for rare and collectible music! One of the greatest little known UK prog bands, QUATERMASS helped in their own way to the establishment of the progressive side of rock. They were formed in London in 1969 by John Gustafson (bass,vocals), Peter Robinson (keyboards) and Mick Unerwood (drums) and released their only album in 1970. ''Quatermass'' consists of a somewhat hard progressive rock sound filled with organ orgasms and grooves. It beginns and ends with the two ''Entropies'', intro and outro, which leads the way of things to come, two good short piano/keyboard pieces... Then, in ''Black Sheep Of The Family'' we meet the classic rock side of the band, a goood rock track with early-DEEP PURPLE/URIAH HEEP hints.''Post War Saturday Echo'' is another heavy rock track with strong progressive tendencies. It sounds dark and bluesy with a great keyboard driven last section.''Good lord Knows'' is a nice short mellow track, almost symphonic, where BEGGAR'S OPERA (Waters Of Change Lp) come to mind.''Up to the Ground'' is one more hard prog example by the band, a sample of which is the favorite sound of the band...''Gemini'' is early DEEP PURPLE influenced, with strong prog leanings...and we are heading for the two masterpieces of the platter.''Make Up Your Mind'' starts off with another early DEEP PURPLE influenced melody but very soon the track transforms into a prog rock epic...Great keyboard work with dark bass lines and a symphonic/complex sound that brings early KING CRIMSON or even VAN DER GRAAF GENERATOR to mind. As for the last track, ''Laughing Tackle'', well, this is a 24-carrot jam piece classic. The most symphonic track of the album with early ELP and early KING CRIMSON tendencies and some intricate, haunting string lines that make it one of the most dark and progressive tracks of the early 70's scene...QUATERMASS deserve much of your attention for their great blending of classic rock influences with the massive symph-like organ passages and the darkened moments that are included ... Strongly recommended!
