Description

PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question.   OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In order to meet that goal, we will ALWAYS work with our customers on any concerns that may arise. Because of that dedication, there should be no need to open a resolution dispute before working with us.  Please keep in mind, we would prefer to continue to provide you the opportunity to acquire the rare music we present each and every week.   Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office. Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has become very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable.  We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our well over 18,000 positive feedback.   We use an ultrasonic KLAudio machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery.   We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Please give us 5 stars in each category through the feedback system, and we will be able to effectively continue to fulfill your passion for rare and collectible music! We have served thousands of satisfied customers - far more than our feedback records indicate - and our aim is to continue to do so. Thank you for your interest and support.   ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ SHIPPING:   USA ~ 1 LP = $4.00 Media Priority rates vary by area; please inquire.   All Canadian and Overseas shipping ~ Please inquire about rates. ......................................................

Original 1974 LIMITED / RARE "QUAD" pressing vinyl complete with the very rare (never seen!) "I SHOT THE SHERIFF "Hit Sticker" on the outer shrink wrap!

......................................................The

1974 Quadraphonic original issue uses a then, specially designed SQ decoder permitting the a 4 channel sound separation (as opposed to the regular 2 channel) when playback is through the quad system or even surround sound receiver, resulting in completely different song mixes that can be detected even on the 'normal' stereo system. The record company changed around the song mixes (sounding like things were added) to enhance the quadraphonic 4-channel listening experience....

STILL IN FACTORY SHRINK WRAPPER ...containing, on the outside of the cellophane wrapper, the very rare "I SHOT THE SHERIFF" sticker that was only on the first pressing and long gone when most folks tore off the outer cellophane to view contents in the gatefold...

The 1974 album on which Clapton's solo career truly caught fire, 461 Ocean Boulevard is best remembered for its hit version  "I Shot the Sheriff"--perhaps the first time many in America ever heard such rhythms. But it's also an album on which emotions run high, especially on two Clapton originals, the prayerful "Give Me Strength" and the pleading "Let It Grow." Clapton maintains his grounding in the blues with versions of Robert Johnson's "Steady Rollin' Man" and Elmore James's "I Can't Hold Out"; revisits a rock & roll classic in Johnny Otis's "Willie and the Hand Jive"; and turns the standard "Motherless Children" into a showcase of snarling guitars. Following a period of dark reclusiveness, 461 Ocean Boulevard was a powerful comeback for Clapton.

Clapton's 461 Ocean Boulevard incorporates a lot of complementary slide guitar with an outstanding collection of songs that flow particularly well. The 4 channel recording is an entirely new and fresh listening experience...
