PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question. OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In the unlikely instance that you feel the need to open a resolution dispute before working with us, you will immediately be blocked from any further chance to acquire the rare music we present each and every week. Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has become very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback. We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. This is a stone cold underground-jazz-psyche classic. The Albert sounds like a band that plays for themselves and to hell with commercial potential ...there is none, leaving the band to respectively, get it on.... That being stated, the recordings on etched in wax are very original, complex and classical. This is serious head music not for the casual commercial hits listener with a desire for type-cast dance floor formula. AT any rate, we sure would have liked to seen the cool cat scene grooving to this platter...
In other words, the "FAN-MAN" unveils his favorite tracks on the album; his very own thought forms:
The depth and wealth of creativity highlighted here is astounding. Much of it does not stir one instantly or make emotional contact at first -- upon repeat plays a fungus growing sense of desire takes over, for this is the music of streets few have not tread upon...music to be appreciated by those living 8 Days a Week.
“Cold N Hard” mercifully takes us into the safety of pure jazz funk.. “Candle Burns” opens menacingly and it builds up with tension through the percussive high hat while the blowing "winds" increase the tracks size and volume. Sidney Poitier is about to step up to the mike, and a certain progressive - jazzy poetry is on then on show. The Albert’s musicality is complex - so there are a lot of moves and grooves on-going creating a very engaging album ( one can be expecting B,S&T's delivering a sonic attack) .. these boys come from a very deep vibe.. Listening to this LP takes one back to a time when grooving to Elvin Jones and Richard Davis, re - Heavy Sounds.
“All Her Vows” delivers a Spanish Grenada guitar intro into wow's-ville; very groovy stuff. And then we get a melody straight off of a southern plantation. The track hits me between the eyes -- wow. We are in the land of once upon a time and our minstrel uses a certain type of freedom to float away like Huck Finn down the Mississippi.
“Tribute” takes us out-there, so be prepared to strap yourself in as the boys give full range to their undoubted talents. A tune worthy of Sun Ra meeting John Cage who meets the fuzz guitar king and further on meeting the one and all - at the avant-garde corner down at the dark end of the street. This track is A MONSTER and the listener may in fact wonder as who these guys were? How did their music remain so unknown? Just ask Ars Nova for the answer....
It might be important to state that the "fan-man" track reviews above -overstate- if even just a little, which more or less make the album sound like an advertisement for a thousand dollar record from the 'record collector's dream' market of untouchables. However it is true -- there is a kind of 'screw-you' quality to the progressive arrangements within -- the kind many of us dearly love.

CONDITION: The cover is rated: A beauty ...hard to find this album at all let alone a TOP COPY, MINT in shrink - 4 sharp corners ... sharp, convincingly to he point of a final collection copy that cannot easily be bettered - if at all... no problems anywhere here.
The vinyl is rated: M- top copy = smoooth and clear all the way ... both Perception labels are clean
