This RARE and surprisingly quiet 2000 series Decca original pressing (SXL 2109) has SUPERB SOUND (A++ or better on both sides) as well, which is of course the main reason we are charging what we are charging for it. Decca LP
It's simply the best sounding 2000 series Decca LP we've played in years. (Many original pressings on the Decca label are not particularly good sounding, appealing more to Audiophile Collectors rather than Audiophile Listeners. There is a difference. If you are on this site there is a very good chance you are one of the latter, which means you want records that actually sound good, not just records with reputations for sounding good. In this respect there is no less than a world of difference.
Both sides are BIG and BOLD. Here are the details taken from the listening notes:
Side One
A++ Super Hot Stamper sound, so solid and REAL. As is often the case with vintage mastering, there is not a lot of top end extension and the loudest string parts can get a bit congested. The sound is big and rich and so Tubey-Magical that you will have no trouble losing yourself in the music.
Side Two
A++ to A+++ sound, EVEN BETTER than side one, which was a bit of a surprise. More top extension helps, with no sacrifice of richness and fullness. The sound is above all very natural, very much like sitting in a real concert hall. NOTE ON PACKING AND SHIPPING You will never receive a record from us packed in a flimsy cardboard mailer. We use HEAVY DUTY oversized cardboard boxes with cardboard protectors sandwiching the record and plenty of bubble wrap all around. After more than twenty years in the record business one thing we know is how to pack records properly, so rest assured the package will arrive at your door safe and sound.
