Description

What It Is:

From the band Mirthrandir, their only album, titled For You The Old Women. This is an excellent progressive album in its original release on their own private label, "Mirth Music".

I received this copy when I was working as a DJ at Northwestern's college radio station, WNUR. Someone came in during my show (a member of the band?), and left a copy for the station and a copy for me. Over the years, I've hardly played it and it's time for it to find a more loving home. It was in basically the same condition when I received it: some wear on the front cover and a little water damage to the back cover and lyric sheet. This copy includes an 8" x 10" glossy picture of the band (which I haven't seen included in any other copies offered for sale).. The vinyl looks unplayed. Please see the detailed condition below.

Tracks are: Side 1
  1. Number Six
  2. Light of the Candle
  3. Conversation with Personality Giver
Side 2
  1. For You the Old Women
  2. For Four

Details:

discs: one 12" vinyl record
label: Mirth Music
catalog #: 2276
country of origin: US
copyright (generally, release) year: 1976
shipping weight: 1 pound, 3 ounces

Condition:

jacket: VG. ring wear on front and back, some other gray rubbing on front and back (I suspect this record was stored with other unsealed copies of this album -- mosxt of the marks on the front match the location of the image on the back). Some water stain on the bottom left corner of the rear cover (no water staining on the front). Light hand-written band and album title on the spine, about half-way faded at this point (yes, I admit I did that back in the '70s). Still, the front and rear graphics are still very clear, and the seams are solid. The lyric sheet is wrinkled from some water in the bottom right, but isn't wrinkled or marked, and is otherwise M-. The band photo has a light 1" crease at the bottom left of the photo and is otherwise perfect.
record:
(visual) VG++
. labels beautiful, no spindle marks, a few very light hairlines.
(play-graded) VG+++ . Very little light surface noise that doesn't intrude on the music. (I'm really close to calling it M-)

Grading standards:

All items are visually graded, and if they've been play graded that will be noted. I follow Goldmine grading standards. My grading is conservative, at least as good as I would expect from anyone that I would buy from.

Payment:

I accept PayPal or personal checks (personal checks must clear before I ship). If you must return the item, it must be in the same condition that I sent it, but I will refund your full purchase price and return shipping cost within the USA (outside of the USA, I'll refund the bid price, but you must pay for return shipping unless I've made a serious error, in which case I'll pay shipping too) -- I guarantee your satisfaction.

Shipping cost and Insurance:

Within the USA: I ship via the US Postal Service, priority and media mail. Costs are based on the shipping weight and package size. Please contact me for shipping to other locations. As always, if your winning bid is above $50, I will pay for insurance within the USA.

Outside of the USA: I'm willing to ship outside of the USA, cost based on the winner's address and size and weight of the package. I usually insist on airmail for reasonable delivery time and better handling. I state the shipping size and weight in the ad so that you'll have an idea of cost, though final determination of shipping cost will occur when the auction completes. Unfortunately I can't offer free insurance as it often gets quite expensive for overseas shipment, however, I strongly advise that you select insurance as I cannot be responsible for delivery in another country.

A note about customs declarations: I will mark all auction wins as merchandise and list the winning bid as its value. Please don't ask to have it marked as a gift, or at a lesser price -- that only risks legal action (because it is fraud), and if customs opens the item they will probably charge you a customs fee anyway if they think that it goes over the legal value of a gift.

Thanks for looking and bidding!
