Das exotische "From San Domingo" von Arthur Benjamin mit seinen Echos von Gitarren und Volksliedern hat mich verzaubert. Charles Millers "Cubanaise" ... (seine) lebhaften Rhythmen und der sonore Mittelteil sind sehr ansprechend. Vielleicht das Stück, dem die meisten Zuhörer verfallen, ist Elmans Arrangement des sogenannten "Canto Amoroso" von Sammartini, eine Zugabe, die Elman auf besondere Weise zu seiner eigenen gemacht hat. - Grammophon
