Description
Mischa Levitzki, born May 25, 1898 in Kremenchuk, Ukraine, died on January 2, 1941, in Avon-by-the-Sea, New Jersey, was a Russian-born American pianist. The family settled 1906 to the States, Mischa studied at the Musical Art New York ( now Juillard School ) under Zygmunt Stojowski from 1907 to 1911, in 1913 he studied at the Hochschule für Musik in Berlin with Ernô Dohnanyi. American debut on 7 October, 1916 at Aeolian Hall, toured widely in the States, Australia, New Zealand and Asia. Mischa Levitzki died suddenly of a heart attack aged 42, in 1941.
