Year and pressing info:  1985, 2nd pressing of 1,000, hand cut & glued printed sleeve

Label and cat#:  Dischord Records 17½  -  Sammich Records #1

Record condition:  NM  Vinyl looks very clean, just a little dusty

Cover condition: M- perfect condition

insert: 3 total inserts, all in good original folded condition, except for pin holes, sorry about that i did it back in the day

Other info: Debut for both bands & Dave Grohl who went on to be in NIRVANA and FOO FIGHTERS. 3 tracks each

my 2 sense worth: This 7" is got so much going for it!  Compare this to any other 7" of the time. 10 things that make it truly unique:

1. only 1,000 pressed

2. hand cut & glued cover

3. one of Dischord Records split releases, 17½

4. Sammich Records 1st release, #1

5. not one insert, but 3 inserts

6. Soulside's 1st release

7. Mission Impossible's only realese

8. unusual in that 2nd pressing has a totaly different name and cover design

9. in almost perfect condition for being 26 years old

"A split 7” from DC that is probably most interesting for Nirvana/Foo Fighters fans: Mission Impossible was Dave Grohl’s first band. Both bands play decent hardcore, Lunch Meat (who later changed their name to Soul Side) are a little calmer, Mission Impossible are a little faster. Nothing spectacularly new (especially considering what else was going on in DC in 1985) but good solid hardcore nonetheless. [7]  "

"In 1985, there was a younger punk scene forming in Washington, DC around Sammich Records, a label co-founded by Amanda MacKaye, the younger sister of Dischord Records co-founder Ian Mackaye. The first Sammich release was a split 7" EP called "Thanks". One side was a young band from Arlington called Mission Impossible (featuring a young Dave Grohl on drums) and on the other side was a new band out of Wilson High School called Lunchmeat, who would soon change their name to Soul Side. Soul Side quickly became very popular and released their first full-length album on Sammich in 1986. Shortly thereafter their bass player, Chris Thomson (who later played in Ignition, Circus Lupus and Monorchid), left the band and was replaced by Johnny Temple. Soul Side went on to release two more albums for Dischord Records and toured regularly, both in the US and in Europe. In the spring of 1989, the band set out with Eli as both roadie and sound engineer on a 3-month European tour which culminated with the recording of "Hot Bodi-Gram" in Holland. After returning home, Bobby Sullivan left the band, and a year or so later Eli joined the other three to form Girls vs. Boys, a band that continues to play together more than a decade later. Sammich later re-issued Soul Side's debut album onto CD for the first time in 2004. The band's Dischord releases were culled onto one CD, "Soon Come Happy" released in 1990 and re-mastered in 2003."

Well, after 30 years of collecting hardcore vinyl I never thought this day would come. After switching to CD in the 1990s and then to MP3 in the 2000s, I can't justify keeping my collection any longer so I offer it to you. I started collecting back in 1982 in the San Francisco Bay area where most of my records were purchased new. I moved to Florida in 1986 and still collected up unto the late 1990s. 

I have always treated my records with the most care. None of my original records are less then very good condition and most are in near mint condition. I did collect many used records over the years and also got many from friends that did not treat them so well. Those records will be described in detail as well.  All records will be shipped with a protective plastic sleeve, vinyl removed from cover to protect spine during shipping and 12 inch records will be packaged in a LP designed cardboard mailer. 7 inch records will be packaged in comparable cardboard packaging. Only the best for my old records!

My grading:

MINT (M): New in original un-opened packaging, perfect, never played and like new in every way. I probably won't have many of these since all were played at least once & covers moved around for decades.

NEAR MINT (NM): Opened and played very few times, only very minor visual imperfections. Super clean cover.

EXCELLENT (EX): Played lightly and well cared for, a few light scuffs. Cover may have a few creases or imperfections. Still a very clean record and cover.

VERY GOOD (VG): Has scuffs or light scratches and noticeable signs of heavier wear and handling. Cover may have more visible wear, small rips or small seam splits.

GOOD (G): Has many scuffs and scratches, signs of heavy wear and handling. Cover shows obvious marks, creases, rips, tape, seam splits or wear, labels ripped or written on. Basically not cared for. (these records were the ones I purchased used or received from friends).

+/-: If I have a hard time putting either record or cover into a solid grade.

I am happy to offer a refund where the item does not match my description.
