Description
MISSION OF BURMA - Rykodisc compilation
Clear vinyl pressing of Rykodisc's 1988 double album compilation of Mission of Burma's "greatest hits".
This is a pretty comprehensive compilation containing pretty much everything remotely essential that Mission of Burma released in their short (under-appreciated) life-span, including "Academy Fight Song", the "Signals, Calls and Marches" EP, and the V.S. LP. Also contains a couple of previously unreleased tracks.
Released on RykoDisc, 1988, catalogue number: RALP 0072-2.
Condition:
EXCELLENT. The vinyl is unmarked and plays well. The cover has some minor corner creases and mild ring-wear.
NB: I use the Record Collector Magazine grading scale - see below for details.
Track listing:
Side one: "Academy Fight Song" \ "That's When I Reach For My Revolver" \ "Outlaw" \ "Fame and Fortune" \ "This Is Not A Photograph" \ "Red"
Side two: "All World Cowboy Romance" \ "Forget" \ "Laugh the World Away" \ "OK\No Way" \ "Secrets" \ "Train"
Side three: "Trem Two" \ "New Nails" \ "Dead Pool" \ "Learn How" \ "Mica"
Side four: "Weatherbox" \ "The Ballad of Johnny Burma" \ "Einstein's Day" \ "Fun World" \ "That's How I Escaped My Certain Fate" \ "Go Fun Burn man" \ "1970"

Shipping and postage
I pack all my records in extra strong, re-inforced DefendaPack record mailers. These are self-locking corrugated cardboard mailers - much stronger than the usual record mailers. I also take the vinyl out from the cover to prevent splitting and pad the whole package with bubble wrap to help ensure that records are not damaged in the post.
My packaging costs and weighs a bit more than usual - this makes my postage rates slightly higher than some large-scale record dealers. However, I do believe my approach makes the postage pretty reliable and I can discount postage rates for multiple purchases:
1 Record 2 Records 3 Records UK: £2.99 £3.25 £3.85 Europe: £3.75 £4.90 £6.00 Rest of the world: £6.20 £8.50 £10.70Note that a double album counts as two single albums for postage purposes.
Given my work commitments I cannot commit to next-day shipping, though I normally try to process orders as quickly as possible - I always ship records within four working days of payment.
Record grading
I use the standard Record Collector Magazine scale for grading records:
MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.
EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and / or creasing.
VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.
FAIR: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and / or defaced.
POOR: The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.
BAD: The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection filler.
