MISSISSIPPI JOHN HURT

This is a USA mono pressing of the Piedmont LP of folk songs and blues recordings
by Mississippi John Hurt, recorded in Washington D C in 1963.
Also included with this album are three printed sheets of interesting articles reviewing the record,
discussing John Hurt's history and his rediscovery after 35 years (please see photograph).
Originally published by 'Time', 'Newsweek', 'Down Beat' and 'The New York Times',
I believe these articles and this album were used as promotional material
to try and secure a release for the record in the UK.
Although the vinyl is bright, glossy and is generally in excellent condition, there is a
surface mark and a bag rub on side 1, and there is also some surface noise to be heard
throughout the playing of the record (please see full condition description below).

Condition:
Vinyl:   *Very Good.
            Clear, bright glossy vinyl with a small surface mark (track 1) and a bag rub across the
            first three tracks on side 1.
Sound: *Very Good.
            Although there is some surface noise to be heard throughout the playing of the record.
Sleeve: *Very Good.
            No marks or writing, with a small split along the top edge and slight wear to
            the spine
Labels: *Excellent.
            Blue Piedmont labels, no marks or writing.

*The description for this item is based on the standards originated by Record Collector Magazine for the condition and
quality of second-hand records offered for sale. The categories and their descriptions are listed below:

MINT:
The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items
such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.

EXCELLENT:
The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality.
The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD:
The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks
and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD:
The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches.
The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.

FAIR:
The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump.
The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

POOR:
The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

BAD:
The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.
