Up for auction is the newly released Sundazed Records gem in MOBY GRAPE LIVE Historic Live Moby Grape Performances 1966-1969 in LIMITED EDITION PURPLE VINYL 2-LP SET! This is the first official collection of concert recordings by the legendary San Francisco band at its blazing late-Sixties peak! Sundazed Records has released this title on compact disc, regular 2-LP black vinyl , and to demonstrate just how proud the good folks at Sundazed Records are of this historic rock document, they released this EXTREMELY LIMITED 200 COPY EDITION of this 2-LP gem pressed on DISTINCTIVE HIGH-DEFINITION 180-GRAM PURPLE VINYL! Sure to be a COLLECTORS ITEM by Moby Grape fans as well as vinyl hounds! At the time, in one or rock's hippest cities, there was no other band like the original Moby Grape(Jeremy Miller, Skip Spence, Bob Mosley, Peter Lewis and Don Stevenson). Moby Grape in their prime were one of the Bay Area's as well as America's best stage bands, with a breathtaking triple-guitar attack and stunning vocal harmonies.This 2-LP set includes performances from soundboard and broadcast tapes, including tracks from the Avalon Ballroom in 1967 and the band's complete long-lost set at the Monterey Pop Festival! There are live versions of rare Grape songs "Rounder" and "Looper" as well as five tracks from a famous Dutch radio show from 1969. And MOBY GRAPE LIVE climaxes with the historic first-ever release of Spence's acid-guitar masterpiece "Dark Magic", never recorded in the studio by the original band but presented here in an epic 17 minute performance at the Avalon Ballroom on New Year's Eve 1966!
