Kosher, U.S., 1973. With 9 page press kit. Gatefold rock folder/ fold-down tabs cover with twin insert pockets.

Cover has slight water damage causing a very light wave at opening, small discoloration and minor wear across bottom edge, a few small dots of pull up and four small spots of stuck-on paper at opening edge. Inner gatefold has some light discoloration around bottom. Lp clean, only a few very tiny marks and a small half inch hairline on side 2, plays nearly new. Nine page press release has a few water lines across edges of several pages, otherwise clean.
Called America's first punk rock album by some, THE WINOS' platter of garage shrapnel is the embodiment of early 70s underground garage d.i.y. ethos, with snarling guitars, twisted humor, and a cynical edge, in the vein of early DICTATORS, THE FUGS, THE GODZ, or OHO. They even do quite a head-spinning version of "Love Potion Number Nine," and demolish "Whole Lotta Love." "The Last Time," and "Glad All Over." Add all this to lunacy like "The Berkowitz Blues," "Nose Job," "Party Games," "Street Baby," "The Big War," "Music Music Music," and more , and it's easy to see these guys were light years ahead of their time!
While Mogan may be a fictitious character, the band seems to be directed in large part, produced, and conceptualized by future TEMPLE CITY KAZOO ORCHESTRA member, and future Rhino Records co-founder, Howard Bronson. Included in the hysterical press release info is a copy of one of Bronson's failing school music exams, a "win-a-date-with-a-wino contest offer" some strange ramblings and more.
A true influential relic of the underground garage psych/ demented-indie hard rock scene, a monster!
