******* MONARCHS OF WINSTON-SALEM ~ Rare 1962 Northern Soul / Doo Wop ~ Tribune *******

Very rare 1962 release on a short lived Winston-Salem, North Carolina label, Tribune T-1002, Monarchs of Winston-Salem, "Army of Love" and "Do The Everything". This is an early, doo wop transitioning into soul record. Both sides are really great ! I have the understanding this group is related to Porgy and the Monarchs that started in 1963. I grade this record a VG. It has nice gloss but shows signs of handling with some light scuffs, no deep scratches but has a little graying on both sides. It's a grainy pressing but it plays strong and clear with a little noise. Give the mp3 samples a listen. I used a Shure M44 bridged to mono. The A side label is clean with light wear. The B side label has tape remnants and some little tears. It's a rare disc. I doubt another will turn up soon if ever. Please give the samples a listen below.
