Description

Beatles' RARE mono LPs:

Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band (MAS-2653, 1967): clean VG+ to M- disc and cover (no seam splits) with inner sleeve and cutouts;

& Magical Mystery Tour (MAL-2835, 1967): VG to VG+ disc, VG cover (booklet separated but complete; cover has 3" seam split at top opening and 1 1/2" seam split at bottom opening).

For those of you who have only heard the stereo versions of Sgt. Pepper's and Magical Mystery Tour albums: there's a significantly different sound to the mono mix that a listen will reveal.  The Beatles and producer George Martin habitually mixed to mono, at least in part because that's how people would hear songs on AM radio.  It's fun to listen to mono versions of music that we've heard in stereo for most of our lives, and realize: this is how The Beatles intended their music to sound!  Ironically, it was the Fab Four themselves who helped kill mono forever.  Sgt. Pepper's was an album that you "had to" hear in stereo; it set a new standard that sounded the death knell for mono recordings (and since everybody bought stereo copies, both of these LPs in mono are very rare).  In the '70s, album-oriented rock FM radio buried mono for good; record companies released everything in stereo from then on.

Why diddle around?  Here's both 1967 Beatles albums in mono for your collection.  They'll hold that spot nicely until you're ready to spend hundreds for M- copies.  Both LPs SOUND GREAT, and the Sgt. Pepper LP even has the special red-and-white inner sleeve created especially for this release (w/the usual seam splits) and the Peter Blake/Jann Haworth sheet of cutouts!

We can only offer these LPs once, at a low opening bid with no reserve; or you can buy-'em-now if you don't want to compete with other collectors.  Once somebody bids, the buy-it-now option goes away.  We combine shipping for multiple-lot winners, and offer an unconditional money-back guarantee; if you aren't happy, return the lot for a refund.  Nobody's returned anything yet!
