We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office. Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has become very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our well over 22,000+ positive feedback.
We use an ultrasonic KLAudio machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Liberty Records had a wide-ranging stable of performers without much credibility in the rock world - not yet, they found that out.
- The Hour Glass were a long-haired,'67 clothes wearing semi-blue-eyed soul, semi-psychedelic-sounding rock band.
- Never mind the perception wasn’t exactly the look or sound Duane and the guys had in mind. The Hour Glass was going to be the band to fill a gap in the Liberty roster – whether they liked it or not, they said.
The album, of course, ended up sounding nothing like the Allman Brothers Band, about two years from forming.
- For instance, “Bells,” with its hippie-style recitation with sound effects draws more on the 'head' scene of the sixties
On a couple of the album’s cuts, Gregg Allman’s vocals give a hint of what would come later: “No Easy Way Down” and “So Much Love” give the singer a chance to shine, as does his own “Got To Get Away.”
Duane Allman’s guitar work is more hidden than his brother’s vocals. (Liberty looked at signing Hour Glass as a way to get Gregg Allman under contract; the record company saw the younger Allman brother as the group’s true star and wanted to groom him for a solo career.)
- Who was in charge at "liberty" with guitar legend Duane on board ??? Freaking knuckle-heads in charge have caused major label history misfire's resulting in the fun of rediscovery true talent, gulp, missed.
- Duane’s first solo comes on “Cast Off All My Fears.” His work can also be heard on “No Easy Way Down” and a few other areas. One of those spots is during “Heartbeat,” the opener to Side Two, where a break about three-quarters of the way through the song has Duane’s guitar flickering and growling and shifting from speaker to speaker in a way that predicts his more famous work in the future.
- The album is performed by a young hippie band being pulled in various musical directions by a producer.
With Hour Glass, the talent is no doubt there, as the world would learn in a very short time when the Allman Brothers Band exploded out of Macon Georgia .
