RARE BRITISH-ONLY VINYL OF 1966 MONO WITH UNIQUE COVER ART!

Rare 1973 original release an obscure, hardly EVER seen vinyl pressing of the 1966 Buffalo Springfield in glorious MONAURAL  

The mono edition features different song mixes from the stereo issue and delivers a deep bold punch in the monaural sound production... 

The record kicks off with Stills' For What It's Worth, which was added to the pressing at the expense of Baby Don't Scold Me.  Everything that can be said about that song has already been said, and it deserves every ounce of praise it has attained. Next up is Stills' thoroughly entertaining rural-edged rocker Go And Say Goodbye and proceeds to one of his most pleasant pop songs - Sit Down I Think I Love You.  So what if it's Beatlish?  Who didn't emulate The Beatles in the mid-sixties?  It doesn't make it any less of a good song.  The third track is yet another in the string of solid Stills compositions; Leave is carried along by some piercing guitar lines that rock harder than anything else on the record.  Young steps in with Nowadays Clancy Can't Even Sing, a fabulous rock-tinged waltz with a superb vocal from Richie Furay.  And people like to hate on Stills' Hot Dusty Roads, usually singling it out as an example of the supposed "filler" that exists on the record.  On the contrary, it might be the most simplistic song on the album, but it has a fantastic melody that some can never get out of their head.  Stills scores again with the incredibly melodic pop rocker Everybody's Wrong before Young delivers two of the best ballads in the Buffalo Springfield catalog with Flying On The Ground Is Wrong and Do I Have To Come Right Out And Say It, both featuring breathtaking Richie Furay vocal deliveries married to Young's solid pop instincts.  Sandwiched in between is another top-notch Young contribution, Burned, with its fabulous vocal harmonies and brief, minimalistic, but enjoyable piano and guitar break.  Out Of My Mind is yet another Young ballad, again with an excellent melody, this time delivered in Young's own fragile voice that perfectly suits the song's introspective tone.  And the record closes the way it began, with another solid Stills-penned rural rocker, Pay The Price, featuring great teasing guitar licks leading into the simple three-word title refrain.  

All in all, twelve rootsy pop/rock Byrds-ish tracks ranging from great to fantastic without a bad track in the bunch.
