PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question. OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. Please keep in mind, we would prefer to continue to provide you the opportunity to acquire the rare music we present each and every week. Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office. Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has become very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our well over +22,000 positive feedback. We use an ultrasonic KLAudio machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Please give us 5 stars in each category through the feedback system, and we will be able to effectively continue to fulfill your passion for rare and collectible music! The MONO release offers different song mixes different from the stereo release. NOTE that the MONO release from'68 is very scarce when by the end of 1967 major record pressing plants all agreed to not press in the MONOPHONIC format. The MONO DECCA release by 1968 was limited offering a BOLD & PUNCHY production, different / superior to the stereo issue!

=> NOTE: The DECCA record labels and back cover of this copy read 'All songs written by Mick Jagger and Keith Richard'. There is no mention of Rev. Wilkins as the author of 'Prodigal Son'. This copy predates the lawsuit, most copies found are the revised version, and this copy is therefore the "rare" 100% ORIGINAL 1969 U.K. release : After the six-minute primal freak-out “Sympathy for the Devil”, you are swept into a murky Southern blues feeling beginning with “No Expectations”. Jagger’s faux twang comes across as the real deal along with Brian Jones delivers one of his finest slide guitar performances ever. It’s the type of song that many bands have tried to recreate, but have never come close to duplicating
As the acid haze lifted from London and The Beatles retreated to Marrakesh to get their heads together, The Rolling Stones saved their career with the turbo-charged menace of "Jumpin' Jack Flash." It was that single that inspired them to get back to the blues on Beggars Banquet, subsequently redefining the art form and ushering in a four-year purple patch unmatched by any band before or since.
The Rolling Stones dug closer to the roots of their rock than they ever had for this album, soaking in more blues, rural and gospel than a bunch of Richmond toffs had any right to. Their desire to copy past masters proved futile - thankfully so, since Beggars Banquet minted the definitive Stones sound, which in turn defined much of the rock 'n' roll that would follow.
"Sympathy for the Devil" is the biggest payback, as these plunderers of R&B laid down a rhythm track more influential than any, save Bo Diddley's beat. Elsewhere, "No Expectations," "Dear Doctor" and "Prodigal Son," are charming in their rootsiness, but it's "Sympathy" and "Stray Cat Blues" that still startle, with the Stones impressing the raw voodoo of the blues in the service of their own English rock sensibility and cranking out something altogether more exciting. That "Jigsaw Puzzle" and "Salt of the Earth" do the same for Bob Dylan and gospel, respectively, only hints at the breadth of the inspiration would the Stones mine on their next three albums.
