PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question.   OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In order to meet that goal, we will ALWAYS work with our customers on any concerns that may arise. In the unlikely instance that you feel the need to open a resolution dispute before working with us, you will immediately be blocked from any further chance to acquire the rare music we present each and every week.   Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has became very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback.   We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery.   We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Please give us 5 stars in each category through the feedback system, and we will be able to effectively continue to fulfill your passion for rare and collectible music! MINTY CLEAN ... STILL IN FACTORY SHRINK WRAPPER

MEGA RARE ...1972 micro-pressing in glorious MONO of this "lost" electrified "good vibes" folk-psych trio ...

Yep, a pretty cool electrified folk rock sound with a 'stoned' vibe throughout -- a full rock setting with feedback guitars, organ and druggy sound effects creating a flowing feel ... a simply incredible private pressing from New York that took three years to record, mix and release. A real "grower" with repeat plays...

  • Paul Levinson - vocals, keyboard
  • Ed Fox - keyboards, vocals
  • Peter Rosenthal - all guitars, electric, acoustic, leads, etc.

The opening track with its "New Tweedy Brothers" edge, "You Are Everywhere" sets the tone for this album. The record has so many elements swirling around in the mix that at times it's hard to pin down exactly where Paul is coming from. That's no criticism though, infact quite the opposite. It keeps the album fresh and vibrant.

Paul Levinson is no doubt best known as a writer of science fiction novels or as a commentator on media and popular culture or perhaps as a professor at Fordham University but we're sure few would know him as a musician and fewer still the man behind a lost psych pop classic record that is widely hunted for and sought after by record collectors around the globe.????

A local New York private pressing recorded between July 1969 and October 1971. At their best, Levinson and his crew produce dark, druggy pop music remindful of neighbors The Patron Saints or a more electified (guitars) Gandalf The Grey. "Forever Friday", "Looking For Sunsets" and "You Are Everywhere" fit this profile. "The Lama Will Be Late This Year" is one of the more interesting cuts on the album, as it features oddly Syd Barrett-like delivery of the lyrics and some pretty unorthodox music with fuzz guitar leads. Other noted highlights are "Looks Like A Night I Won't Catch Much Sleep Tonight" with a flowing infectious popsike groove. "You are Everywhere" is yet another catchy psych tune, sporting sixties Jerry Garcia guitar style, the leads running through the tune amid pumping farfisa organ ala the Dead's Pig Pen ... "Forever Friday" contains a haunting tone drenched in soaring acid guitar sounding to the point where it might flip into backwards guitar effects ... "Antique Shop (The Coming Of Winter)" delivers a psychy New Tweedy Brothers feel, layered with acid guitar to cap off a nice groove ... Paul Levinson drops the word 'psychedelics' a couple times in the lyrics which is the songs direction....

The story behind this record is almost as entertaining as the music. The music is of its time and that is meant as a compliment but as its time needed to be 1968-1970 and not 1972. Had this record been released in 1968-1970 and with the support of a major label it would have been hailed as a psych-pop masterpiece. That is perhaps the reason why it was overlooked at the time as its audience had by 1972 moved into more heavier and blues based rock music and sunshine psychedelic pop was pretty much forgotten. So the record garnered some positive reviews and regional airplay but quickly lapsed into obscurity for the next 40 years.

That began to change when the July 2002 issue of Japan's Record Collectors' Magazine featured and hailed Twice Upon a Rhyme in its roundup of American 1960s "Psychedelic Movements". It noted to many collectors the albums mere existance and much like Lazarus the record came back to life. This time however the music was of its time, in that it was a perfect reflection of those days when rock music was inventive and artists were less concerned about business and more about creating art. It is a refreshing listen today and filled with plenty of positive vibes. It really should be heard as a complete work and its genius really comes through with multiple plays

  1. "Today Is Just Like You"
  2. "Looking For Sunsets (In The Early Morning)"
  3. "Gentle Blue Cherry Bell"
  4. "I'm Seeing You In A Different Light"
  5. "Learn To Learn"
  6. "Looks Like A Night (I Won't Catch Much Sleep In)"
  7. "Raincheck"
  8. "You Are Everywhere"
  9. "Forever Friday"
  10. "The Soft Of Your Eyes"
  11. "Antique Shop (The Coming Of Winter)"
  12. "Not Yet Ready To Say Goodbye"
  13. "The Lama Will Be Late This Year"
