HAILED RIGHTLY amongst those who know such things as the greatest hard rock album of all time. This was the album that seperated the dull, dirgy blues rock beginnings of metal from the supersonic age of new-world hard rock. This my friends is the starting point for everything that we grew to love and hate about metal in the 80's. Where do you think Van Halen copped their licks?
Vocalist Sammy Hagar and guitarist Ronnie Montrose were the perfct foil very much in the Plant/Page tradition but sounding futuristic in comparison, a precursor if you will to the Dave Lee Roth/Eddie Van Halen axis just a few short years later. And the songs are simply triumphant - not a weak track - an album that rocks from start to finish with one thing on their mind; pulverising the audience.
Lead track 'Rock The Nation', spells it out loud and clear as they rip, roar, cruise and booze through eight others including 'Bad Motor Scooter' ("Get on yer baad motor scooter and R-i-i-i-i-DE!), 'Space Station No. 5', 'I Don't Want It', 'Good Rockin' Tonight', 'Rock Candy' ("hard, sweet and S-T-I-C-K-Y!), 'One Thing On My Mind' and 'Make It Last'. There's no going back from this one. All killer and NO filler.
This auction is part of a fantastic collection of seventies rock which I was lucky enough to acquire. Most of these records were stored with the utmost care and sparsely played. Some were possibly never played or may have been for just a handful of times.

Vinyl: Nice clean and shiny condition. No spindle marks on label. Grades as top shop fresh MINT!
Cover: Again, no signs of use. Issued in a beautifully illustrated single cover. Sharp corners, no dings, no bends, no ring wear, no split seams and no creases. Spine is perfectly square, straight, stiff and uncrushed. Displays original printers bloom. Beautiful and impossible to find like this 44 years after release. Grades as a shop fresh MINT!
