FOURTH ALBUM from these much loved and hugely respected art rock pioneers. By now, the band had fully embraced a unique compositional style encompassing heavily orchestrated progressive rock and beautiful easy to hum melodies best exemplified by the conceptual nature of this album. Forceful and compelling the production (by Tony Clarke) is both adventurous and complex with added sound effects including tablas, flutes, Mellotron and orchestral vignettes all presented in warm panoramic audio. Man of the match? Well, it just has to be vocalist and band leader Justin Hayward who's rich, creamy vocal never sounded so good.
One of the great late sixties progressive psych milestones - every home should have one.

This auction is part of a fantastic collection of seventies rock which I was lucky enough to acquire. Most of these records were stored with the utmost care and sparsely played. Some were possibly never played or may have been for just a handful of times.
