Moondog on the streets of New York
7" 45 Extended Play in mint condition,
plain sleeve, no jacket
I've sold records since 1963 as Records For Recollectors and stand behind everything I sell.
You won't find better vinyl of this EP because it doesn't get better.
I think it was Jazzbo (Al Collins) broadcasting a nighttime jazz show from his purple grotto on WNEW, NY, who first brought Moondog to prominence. He described Moondog's unique instruments like the OO, the OOTSU, and the TRIMBA (I never forgot) and gave his amateur tapes airtime. Moondog's unusual rhythms are fascinating - 5/4 time, 9/4 time, etc. He was influential in his time and still is. Philip Glass is among his fans. According to Wiki, a documentary about Moondog's life, "The Viking of 6th Avenue", is in production for release this year.
