Formed by the frontman of Fat White Family and by Sheffield square-pegs The Eccentronic Resarch Council, Moonlandingz are heading full-tilt into a world of absurdity and outrage on this second album and first as a non-fictional band, and doing so with whatever ingredients they can lay their hands on - be it demented glam rock drums, Fall-style cut-up imagery, garage-rock bile, sample-strewn soundscapes or skeletal electro workouts - in a manner that may remind older heads of Earl Brutus. Yet with humour as well as maverick charm on their side, 'Interplanetary Class Classics' is a wildly compelling ghost train of a record, tackling the malice and madness of the here and now with deranged style and enviable swagger.
