Moonlyte - 'Better Late Than Never' LP, released in April, 1971 only a
few were made and sold on the Astro label, LP 217

This is the only album released by Moonlyte, an obscure but excellent
late 60's, early-70's band comprised mostly of Cuban-American
musicians from the New Jersey-area. Although 2,000 copies were
originally pressed, only a few saw any circulation.
The music (at least, the music on Side One), is Latin-rock based, with
a great deal of acid-rock, soul, and lounge/groove thrown in. The
fuzz-guitar work is particularly noteworthy. On the other hand, most
of Side Two's tracks are standard, early-70's soft-pop music, tailored
for Spanish-language AM radio airplay. With the exception of the
closing song, "Funky Epilog", Side Two is not what gives this LP its
semi-legendary status among rare psych/acid fans.
This album is one of the rare private-press/indie/psychedelic/garage.
