The original gatefold sleeve is in very good condition - there is some light scuffing to the tips of each of the corners. The cover is flat, but there are a small number of creases on the front and back cover and it has a small sticker removal mark on the front cover. The spine is strong and there are no splits, stains or other damage. The inside of the gatefold is amazing, very clean indeed. A Very Good grading.
The original inner sleeve is in Very Good condition, no rips, stains or tears.
The original insert is in Excellent condition, no rips, stains or tears.
Visually, the record must grade Very Good+. The LP has a little evidence of paper scuffs and there are about 3-4 scratches on each side, with just one fingerprint mark on the run-out groove on each side. The spindles are clean with no marks around it and no spindle traces on any sides. The labels are also clean with no marks, scuffs or writing.
The playing condition is also Very Good+. Despite the album showing visual signs of being played, it plays beautifully from start to finish with no nasty pops, clicks or other noise at all. A really nice, clean sounding copy.
Recorded in New Jersey, Los Angeles, Atlanta, Australia and New York City, 'High Hopes' features Rage Against The Machine guitarist Tom Morello on numerous tracks and will be released on January 13. The album also features a cover of Suicide's 'Dream Baby Dream'.
Morello toured Australia with Springtseen earlier this year and contributes vocals to the song 'The Ghost of Tom Joad' as well playing guitar on the album's title track. Clarence Clemons, who passed away in 2011, and Danny Federici, who passed away in 2008, also appear on several of the album's songs.
'High Hopes' isn't a totally new song. A version of the track - originally released in 1990 by The Havalinas - features on Springsteen's 1996 EP 'Blood Brothers'. However, Springsteen has recently reworked older material for newer releases, such as 'Land Of Hope And Dreams' on 'Wrecking Ball'.
