- "A strong contender for the best major label psych obscurity of the 1960s." --Endless Trip
- "The best heavy psych album ... the songwriting and fuzz guitar are absolutely top of the heap." --The Acid Archives
- "Poised between psychedelia and hard rock, it combines strong and weird songs, mystifying and inventive lyrics, wild guitar parts and beefy drumming with a crisp, spaced-out production sound that suits the music perfectly." --Galactic Ramble blog
'It's easy to explain why this is the best heavy psych album: It's a hardrock album that comes from a garage tradition with no blues or heavy metal influences at all. This results in two vocal styles, both of which are superior to anything else you'll hear on a 1969 hardrock record. The first, as heard on the aptly named "Welcome To The Void," is a punky, youthful snarl that suits upbeat hardrock better than any macho swagger. The second, as heard on the also aptly named "Of Dreams," is a breathy whisper that is sexual and eerie. Steve Morgen is one horny guy, and it's hard to tell whether he's more interested in hallucinating of getting laid, but both obsessions really create a kind of urgency here that is powerful and exciting. Even the obvious Who rip at the end of side one and the long jazzy guitar solo at the end of side two work in this context. And, of course, the songwriting and fuzz guitar are absolutely top of the heap.' - Aaron Milenski/Acid Archives
