These are the Library of Congress 1938 recordings with Morton talking and playing.
First issue. Dubbed from the Library's lacquer discs recorded by Alan Lomax. Some explitives deleted.
Circle sets Volumes 1-12 (45 12" 78s red vinyl) Complete. Each side numbered separately- 90 sides, 45 records.
Volume 1 Nos. 1-8. A few scuffs, an occasional needle drop. Overall E+.
Volume 2. Nos. 9-16. A couple of very light scuffs, one tiny scratch. Overall E+
Volume 3. Nos 17-24. Rec, 17-18. A few light marks probably silent. The rest as above. Overall E+
Volume 4. Nos. 25-32. Rec 28. Scuffs, a few light scratches may sound. Otherwise a scuff or so. Overall E/E+
Volume 5. No.s 33-40. A few scuffs, an occasional needle drop. Overall E+.
Volume 6. Nos. 41-46. No. 46. 1" scr. Otherwise an ocassional light mark. Overall E+ except for No. 46.
Volume 7. Nos. 47-54. No. 53. silent mark, not a sscratch. One scuff may sound brefly. Overall E+
Volume 8. Nos. 55-60. Occassional tiny scuff. E++
Volume 9. Nos. 61-68. 1 lt scratch may pop once ot twise. Otherwise great condition. Overall E+/E++
Volume 10. Nos. 69-74. Silent scuff 1 sode, otherwise great condition. Overall E++
Volume 11. No.s 75-80. Appears unblemished. M-
Volume 12. Nos. 81-90. Light scuff 1 side. Otherwise georgeous. E++
All 12 volumes limited edition, numbered 266 in ink.
The 78 rpm pressings are a bit primative. What may first appear as damage is often vinyl discoloration at the time of pressing.
Records: Avg E+. Little sign of overall groove wear. Very lfew spindle marks. Most appear unplayed.
Album: E+. Covers intact. Spines show some hinge wear, some cover foredges bumped., some front covers show rubbing.
This complete set seldom shows up in such fine condition. Only issued in the U.S.
